Kallem privacy notice
Effective 2 October 2026. This notice covers meetings, accounts, bookings, recordings, and manual payment requests, including a Kallem room shown inside LearnFeed.
Controller
Abdelrahman Elsharkawi, UNI Campus H3.01.12, 66123 Saarbrücken, Germany is the data controller. Contact: learnfeed.support@gmail.com.
Data and purposes
We use account identifier, email, and display name for sign-in; room codes, connection and media metadata, chat, and attendance for meetings; contact details and times for bookings; and recording files and sharing state when recording is enabled. If manual payment intake is opened, we use the selected plan and period, amount, transfer method and reference, and uploaded transaction screenshot to review the claim and prevent duplicate or fraudulent requests. Camera, microphone, and screen content is transmitted for the call and stored as a file only if recording is on. Technical logs and rate limits help secure the service.
Legal bases
Service, requested booking, and payment-request data is processed under GDPR Article 6(1)(b); necessary security and fraud-prevention data under Article 6(1)(f); and applicable legal or accounting obligations under Article 6(1)(c). Hosts remain responsible for the legal basis and participant notice for their own meeting and recording.
Providers and recipients
Supabase handles shared HAYTH authentication, Kallem data, and private payment-proof storage; LiveKit carries media; Vercel hosts the app; Upstash supports rate limiting; Resend sends booking email; Stripe processes card payments and subscriptions — card details are entered on Stripe's own pages and never reach Kallem; Cloudflare R2 stores recordings when enabled. Only the founder's authorized admin view can request a short-lived link to a payment screenshot. Other participants see the media and display name you share. Hosts see attendance and their recordings. Anyone with a recording share link may view that recording until revoked. LearnFeed owns its classroom records and publication.
Retention
Recordings are deleted automatically 90 days after the meeting ends, and a scheduled job removes both the file and its record. A host can delete a recording sooner at any time, and should: 90 days is a backstop, not a recommendation. Standalone meeting chat is available for up to 24 hours; scheduled cleanup removes expired messages. Chat in LearnFeed classrooms is not stored by Kallem. Booking verification codes and rate-limit entries are purged 24 hours after they expire. Meeting history, attendance, and bookings are kept until you ask us to delete them. A manual payment reference and private screenshot remain while the request is unresolved. Contact us for verified deletion, subject to any legal or accounting retention duty. Security logs and provider backups may remain for their operational periods.
Your rights
Contact learnfeed.support@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object where applicable. You may complain to a competent data-protection authority. We verify requests before changing someone else's account or recording. You may decline camera or microphone access and use remaining available features.
Cookies and local storage
Necessary session and room-authority cookies are used: a signed participant cookie carrying your display name and role for a room, a host-authority cookie, and the shared HAYTH sign-in cookies. Your browser also stores, locally: language, theme, a first-visit flag, and — if you start a meeting — the host key for that room. The host key is not a preference: it is the only proof that your browser is the one that started the room, so anyone with access to your browser profile holds it until the room is closed. Kallem uses no advertising or analytics cookies.
Where your data is processed
The application runs in the Frankfurt region. Supabase, LiveKit, Vercel, Upstash, Resend, Stripe, and Cloudflare R2 may process data outside the European Economic Area, principally in the United States. Those transfers rest on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or on an adequacy decision where one applies, together with a data processing agreement with each provider. Ask us at learnfeed.support@gmail.com for details of these safeguards.
Pricing by region
The plans page shows a price in your local currency. We choose that currency from the country your connection appears to come from, which the hosting platform reports to us from your IP address — we do not store it, and we do not build a profile from it. You can override the detected currency on the plans page if it is wrong. The price itself is the same in every country; only the currency it is shown in changes.
Age
Kallem is not offered directly to anyone under 16. Where a LearnFeed academy embeds a Kallem classroom, the academy is the controller for its students, including any who are minors, and is responsible for the notices and consents that requires.
